Pin type porcelain insulators for high voltage transmission lines are mainly used to insulate and support conductors in high voltage overhead transmission lines. It is divided into five grades of 6 kV, 10 kV, 15 kV, 20 kV and 35kV according to the rated voltage. The pin insulator is composed of porcelain and steel pin (or screw sleeve), and the porcelain and steel pin (or screw sleeve) are glued together with Portland cement. The surface of porcelain parts is white or brown, and the surface of steel feet is hot-dip galvanized.

There are many kinds of line post composite insulators. It has the characteristics of small volume, light weight, strong pollution resistance and small maintenance. Nanjing Electric is one of the earliest manufacturers to develop composite insulators in China. It has many kinds of product series, such as pin, cross arm, pillar and wind deflection prevention, with voltage grade from 10kV to 500kV and strength grade from 3kN to 20kN.

It can be used in 6 ~ 500kV rated voltage power stations, substation distribution devices, disconnectors and electric equipments to fix conductors, insulate and support.

The porcelain bushing is a hollow porcelain insulator, which is glued with the flange. Some are inserted through the guide rod, some are filled with insulating gas, and some are installed with valve pieces or different insulating media to form an electrical product, which is used to pass through the wall and box for support and insulation.
